PennDOT has postponed plans to close Route 65 northbound between I-79 and Red Gate Road in Glenfield to begin clearing a rock slide.
The northbound side had been scheduled to close at 6 a.m. and reopen to one lane of traffic at 3 p.m. Instead, one lane will stay open today and work will begin at 6 a.m. Friday, PennDOT spokesman Jim Struzzi said. One lane will reopen for the evening rush hour at 3 p.m. Friday.
The northbound side will close again at 6 a.m. Saturday through about 3 p.m. Monday.
About 14,200 vehicles use northbound Route 65 in this area on an average day, Mr. Struzzi said. Traffic will be detoured using I-79 to Route 51 to the Sewickley Bridge. Southbound Route 65 will remain open.
Today's work was postponed because crews were unable to obtain use of a crane to remove debris from up on the hillside, he said.
