Marshall -- Radio station WDVE-FM will be host to a free battle of the bands concert from 7 to 10 p.m. Friday at the Elias Fry Barn in Knob Hill Park, Knob Hill Road. Bands will compete for a $100 prize. Refreshments will be available. Registration is required; call 724-925-3090.

FESTIVALS

Pine -- Food, games, petting zoo, entertainment and pie- and watermelon-eating contests are among the activities to be offered during Pine Community Day from 2 p.m. to dusk Saturday at Pine Community Park, 230 Pearce Mill Road. Pine -- The annual Fore the Children Golf Classic to benefit Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Butler County, will be held July 30 at Treesdale Golf & Country Club. Registration begins at 11:30 a.m.; shotgun start at 12:30 p.m. Fees are $300 for individuals, $1,100 for foursomes. Tickets for dinner only at 6:30 p.m. are $75. Registration deadline is Friday. Zelienople -- The Willing Workers of St. Paul Lutheran Church, 215 N. Main St., will hold Horse Trading Days Luncheons from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, and a spaghetti dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday. Cost of the spaghetti dinner is $7 for adults, $3 for children 10 and younger.

Cranberry -- Families Advocating for Chromosomal Education, or FACE 22, will hold a parent network meeting at 6 p.m. Friday at Panera Bread, Freedom Road. The group strives to be a resource for parents raising children with the 22q11.2 chromosome deletion or other related chromosomal disorders.
