Unrelated car crashes kill two in Shaler

Two people were killed in unrelated accidents in Shaler yesterday.

Stephanie Fair, 29, of Weirton, W.Va., died after the car in which she was a passenger hit an embankment and flipped over at 1:35 a.m. while traveling east on Seavey Road, according to the Allegheny County medical examiner's office. She was pronounced dead at 2:20 a.m. at Allegheny General Hospital.

Also yesterday, Marty Keith Oaks, 45, of Bloomfield was killed in a two-car accident as he drove south in a northbound lane of Route 28 near Etna, according to the medical examiner's office. His car struck a sport utility vehicle. Two people in the SUV were taken to Allegheny General. Their identities and conditions were unavailable.
