Conservancy plans program at the zoo

Conservancy plans program at the zoo

The Westmoreland Conservancy has scheduled an event for three months down the road, but is already seeking sponsors and participants.

The conservancy, a land trust based in Murrysville, is putting together plans for Conservation Connection at the Zoo. It will be at the Pittsburgh Zoo and PPG Aquarium from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. May 3.

This event will focus on conservation and protection of the region's natural resources. It is intended to give conservation-minded people and organizations from Western Pennsylvania an opportunity to share ideas and information.

Among the events will be a picnic-style dinner in the Garden Tent, behind-the-scenes tours of the zoo, children's activities, discussion of conservation-related topics.
