Pittsburgh Snow Angels program returns, offers help with snow removal

The Pittsburgh Snow Angels program is returning for another season, lining up volunteers to help elderly and disabled residents with snow removal, the city has announced.

City residents age 60 or older and those with disabilities are eligible to register with the program if they cannot provide snow removal on their own, Mayor Bill Peduto's office said. The effort, introduced in 2011, relies on volunteers to supply labor.

Residents in need of help can call the Citiparks Healthy Active Living staff at 412-475-2459 to sign up. People who want to volunteer can register via the Snow Angels website.
