A man was shot in the face in Oakland early this morning but is expected to survive.

Pittsburgh police have little information about the shooter or the circumstances, Lt. Daniel Herrmann said.

The incident happened around 1:56 a.m. on Parkman Avenue.

The 23-year-old victim managed to run to nearby Fifth Avenue.

Homicide detectives are handling the investigation.

The man was in surgery this morning.
