Arrest made in Spring Hill shooting death

A Bellevue man was arrested Friday evening in the shooting death of a Spring Hill man earlier this month.

The Allegheny County Sheriffs Fugitive Task Force along with Pittsburgh homicide detectives arrested Lawrence Brent Simmons, 41, in the 200 block of Westinghouse Avenue in Wilmerding around 6 p.m. Mr. Simmons was to be arraigned on charges of criminal homicide, criminal conspiracy, and violation of the firearms act.

Police said he shot 38-year-old Terry James inside an apartment in the 2100 block of Rhine Street on Dec. 7. Police said a 26-year-old woman was pistol-whipped and shot in the arm.
