Board hears arguments over Beechview apiary

Board hears arguments over Beechview apiary

The city's Zoning Board of Adjustment will determine in 45 days whether to grant a special exception to a proposed Burgh Bees apiary on a 6,000-square-foot lot on Fallowfield Avenue in Beechview.

Two members of Burgh Bees, the property owner and three other residents spoke at today's hearing in support of the proposal to place two to four hives on the empty lot. Ten residents who live nearby spoke in opposition, citing allergies and fear of lost property value.

More details in tomorrow's Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
