Interim director to be named at Urban Redevelopment Authority

Interim director to be named at Urban Redevelopment Authority

Don Kortlandt, the city Urban Redevelopment Authority's general counsel, is in line to be named its acting executive director, replacing Jerome Dettore, who has resigned.

The URA board is expected to vote next week to nominate and approve Mr. Kortlandt for the interim post while a search is conducted for a permanent replacement. The board met yesterday in executive session and "unanimously indicated its intention to nominate and approve" Mr. Kortlandt as acting executive director at its Aug. 9 meeting, according to a URA press release.

Mr. Kortlandt has served as general counsel for the URA since January 2006. Before joining the agency, he was a partner in a law firm now known as K&L Gates and the Hergenroeder Rega and Sommer law firm.
