If you recall, Saturday, Oct. 22, was a picture-perfect day.
I was taking advantage of the beautiful weather to prepare my garden for winter. One of my chores is to store precious stepping stones of my grandchildren’s hand- and footprints.
I have fairly large bins that keep the items safe during the winter. Well, I am pretty strong but I am not a young woman. I was struggling terribly trying to drag a bin into my garage.
Across the street, a young man was making a grocery delivery. As he pulled out of the driveway, he didn’t drive away. Instead, he stopped in front of my house, hopped out of his car, came up my driveway and asked if he could help me.
In no time flat he had the bin situated in its spot in my garage. What a godsend he was — he rescued me from a strenuous back-breaking job.
I called my neighbors to tell them what their delivery driver did for me. They saw him helping me and supplied me with some information. They said this inspirational young man was so pleasant, polite and amazingly grateful when offered a tip. He was gone so quickly after helping me that I didn’t have time to offer him one.
I found out that this special young man named Jason works for the Point Pickup delivery service, which is used by the Monroeville Giant Eagle curbside service.
