With Pennsylvania’s primary just over one month away, Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton is stepping up her Pittsburgh presence this week, opening an organizing office in East Liberty Thursday evening.
The office, at 216 North Highland Avenue, will be the Clinton campaign’s first in Pennsylvania.
It opens to the public at 6 p.m., March 24, and will be christened with remarks by Allegheny County Executive Rich Fitzgerald. According to an advance copy of a campaign release, Mr. Fitzgerald will speak about how Ms. Clinton ”will break down the barriers that hold too many Pennsylvania families back and build ladders of opportunity.”
The event is open to the public, though the campaign asks that you RSVP here.
Ms. Clinton’s Democratic rival, Bernie Sanders, is opening an office in Scranton tomorrow. But it’s Ms. Clinton who has the wind at her back after a strong showing in Florida and four other state primaries last week. And with 210 Democratic delegates at stake, Pennsylvania will be a real prize: Other than New York State’s April 19 primary, the Keystone State boasts the biggest primary between now and early June.
