A flight from Pittsburgh to Atlanta was evacuated this afternoon after its brakes overheated.
Delta spokeswoman Leslie Parker said 43 passengers and five crew members were evacuated from Flight 2284 around 4:14 p.m. after it landed in Atlanta's Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport.
There were initial reports of minor injuries, but Ms. Parker said no injuries were reported.
FAA spokeswoman Kathleen Bergen said one or more tires on the aircraft blew out during the landing. She added that the overheating could have been caused by locked brakes or other issues related to the landing system, but only an investigation will determine the actual cause.
Ms. Parker said passengers and crew were taken to the taxiway before being bussed to the terminal.
Ms. Parker said the plane has been taken out of service and will be evaluated by the airline's maintenance department.
