Dean involved in M.B.A. case leaving WVU

A West Virginia University administrator who stepped down as business school dean as the result of a degree scandal involving the governor's daughter is leaving the university.

Finance professor R. Stephen Sears, who had continued to teach at WVU, has been named dean of the business school at Texas A&M International University in Laredo. Dr. Sears resigned as dean of WVU's business school in April 2008 after an independent panel concluded university officials falsified school records to make it appear that Mylan executive Heather Bresch, daughter of West Virginia Gov. Joe Manchin, finished an M.B.A. degree she did not earn.
