A driver was trapped in a box truck for about an hour on New Texas Road in Plum before rescue crews were able to free him.
The man was driving a box truck, which struck a utility pole, taking down wires. The truck was on its side when rescue crews arrived around 10:15 a.m. The victim was conscious, according to state police, but because of the downed wires it was difficult to rescue the man and officials were concerned about hypothermia.
The victim was extracted and flown to a hospital. The road remains closed and Duquesne Light crews are on the scene now, state police said.
