Four escape safely from Carnegie apartment fire

Four tenants escaped to safety after a fire broke out in their Carnegie apartment building late last night.

Carnegie officials said they received a call for a fire with explosions at the apartment building at 996 Chartiers St.

Damage was extensive. The county fire marshal was called to determine the cause and origin of the blaze.

The American Red Cross provided food, shelter and clothing to the four people--three meTn and one woman--who were displaced from their homes.
