Snow and cold weather that has a strong grip on Western Pennsylvania this morning has caused a rash of school delays and closings. Secondary roads, bridges and overpasses are icy, slowing the morning commute.
Things are going to get worse before they improve.
The National Weather Service has issued a wind chill from 4 p.m. through 7 a.m. Saturday Bitter cold air will move over the region today and hang on through tomorrow. The cold and wind will combine to drop wind chills from 15 to 20 degrees below zero.
Anyone who ventures outdoors should wear a hat and gloves and be sure to limit skin exposure to the wind.
