An electrical explosion beneath a building in the Penn Center complex on William Penn Highway in Wilkins this afternoon knocked out power to the complex and some nearby businesses for about an hour.
No one was injured, contrary to earlier reports.
An employee of the nearby Moe's Southwest Grill said a "fireball" came out of Building One and then the power shut off, but no fire resulted.
Duquesne Light said its crews restored power within an hour or so to all the buildings except Building One, which remained without electricity throughout the afternoon.
Tenants in the complex were sent home for the day.
Utility workers weren't sure exactly what exploded, but the blast was apparently caused when rain water seeped into an electrical vault in the sidewalk next to Building One.
