WASHINGTON, D.C. -- No. 3 Pitt dominated No. 11 Georgetown, 70-54, today to remain unbeaten.
The Panthers (14-0) are the only remaining undefeated team in the Big East and likely will move to No. 2 in the national polls when they are released Monday. Current No. 2 Connecticut lost earlier this week -- to Georgetown.
The Panthers bullied Georgetown all over the Hoyas' home court. They won the rebounding battle, 46-21, and imposed their will on the overmatched Hoyas.
Sophomore center DeJuan Blair led Pitt with 20 points and 17 rebounds. Sam Young and Tyrell Biggs, the other members of Pitt's front court, each scored 14 points.
Before today Georgetown had won 28 consecutive games at the Verizon Center, its home court.
