The Rose Bowl is getting a dream matchup.
Penn State and Southern California, among a handful of one-loss teams deprived of a shot at playing for the national championship, will instead meet in Pasadena on New Year's Day.
The pairings for the five Bowl Championship Series games were announced tonight.

The Nittany Lions and Trojans are both 11-1.
Penn State clinched its trip to Pasadena Nov. 22 and earned a share of the Big Ten Conference title by beating Michigan State. USC beat rival UCLA Saturday to wrap up its seventh consecutive Pac-10 crown and advance to the Rose Bowl for the fourth consecutive year.
