About 130,000 Duquesne Light customers are without power after strong winds -- caused by the remnants of Hurricane Ike -- swept through the region, downing trees and power lines this evening.
Duquesne Light spokesman Joseph Vallarin said crews are working to restore power. Vallarin said the largest concentration of Duquesne Light outages is in Center, Hopewell, Monaco, Hampton, McCandless and Ross.
The National Weather Service said high-wind watches and warnings are in effect until 4 a.m.
