Invaders hold couple, baby, at gunpoint for 2 hours

A Fayette County man was treated at a hospital this morning after three intruders at his home beat him and demanded money, state police said.

Michael T. Watts, 27, and Jessica N. Swihart, 24, told investigators the intruders broke into their Point Marion Home around 3:30 a.m.

For more than two hours the couple and their 1-year-old son were held at gunpoint.

The suspects wore disguises. Two wore ski masks and the third wore a Halloween mask, police said.

The intruders confronted Mr. Watts, assaulting him as they demanded money.

At one point, Ms. Swihart grabbed her baby and tried to flee through a window. But one of the men stopped her, pointing a pistol at her head.

The couple did not produce any money for the robbers who ransacked the house.

Some household items were reported taken by the intruders before they fled in a brown or tan 2000 Nissan sedan, police said.

Anyone with information about the home invasion or the suspects involved is asked to call state police in Uniontown at 724-439-7111.
