The around-the-clock lane closure on Route 28 north from Pittsburgh Mills Mall to the Creighton Interchange is to be lifted by 3 p.m. today.
Instead, only off-peak lane closures will be imposed in the 2-mile stretch for the remainder of the $35.8 million, 6.8-mile project. That is, the contractor will not be permitted to restrict northbound traffic between 3 and 7 p.m.
However, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation pointed out that around-the-clock lane closures will continue for a while yet on Route 28 north from the Harmar/Route 910 interchange to the mall exit.
