Body of WWII airman killed in '42 crash returns to Sharon

SHARON, Pa. -- An airman from Mercer County who was killed in World War II, but whose remains weren't found until 2004, will be buried.

James Blose was a pilot and first lieutenant with the Army Air Forces, serving in the Pacific. He will be buried tomorrow with full military honors in Sharon near his parents' graves.

The 23-year-old Lt. Blose was last seen April 22, 1942. His plane apparently crashed in bad weather on Viti Levu Island in Fiji.

The Pentagon says the wreckage was found in 2004 and investigators returned in 2006 to excavate the site. Investigators used dental records to identify the remains.
