Redevelopment authority to name interim director

Don Kortlandt, the Pittsburgh Urban Redevelopment Authority's general counsel, is in line to be named its acting executive director, replacing Jerome Dettore, who has resigned.

The URA board is expected to vote next week to nominate and approve Mr. Kortlandt for the interim post while a search is conducted for a permanent replacement. The board met yesterday in executive session and "unanimously indicated its intention to nominate and approve" Mr. Kortlandt as acting executive director at its Aug. 9 meeting, according to a URA press release.

Mr. Kortlandt is a graduate of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Columbia University Law School. He has served as general counsel for the URA since January 2006. Before joining the URA, he was a partner in a law firm now known as K&L Gates and the Hergenroeder Rega and Sommer law firm.

Mr. Dettore resigned, effective today, to pursue other opportunities.
