Officer struck in hit-and-run accident

A Pittsburgh police officer was struck in the Strip District early this morning in a hit-and-run incident.

The officer, who has not been identified, was struck around 2:30 a.m. in the 1600 block of Penn Avenue, according to KDKA-TV. The officer was taken to Mercy Hospital.

Police are looking for the driver of the burgundy car that hit the officer.
