Pittsburgh detectives have arrested one suspect and are seeking another in a robbery that left one man shot in the stomach.
Shaka Davidson, 19, of Braddock, was charged today in connection with the incident at 3 p.m. yesterday in the 3300 block of Ward Street.
Police said today that Mr. Davidson and Vincent White, 22, of Braddock, went to the apartment and said they wanted to buy marijuana from one of two men there. When a 21-year-old victim turned to go inside, Mr. White hit him in the head and a struggle began.
Police said Mr. White pulled a gun and demanded to know where guns were kept in the apartment. Mr. Davidson grabbed a Samurai sword and held it to the 21-year-old.
Mr. White then shot a second victim, a 26-year-old man who had been visiting. He is being treated at UPMC Presbyterian.
The two victims were not named.
Mr. Davidson is charged with a variety of offenses, including attempted homicide. A warrant will be issued for Mr. White.
Police looking through the house found a pistol on the floor with a "chunk of marijuana" next to it. Officers also found a shotgun with a pistol grip inside a guitar case, an AK-47 assault-style rifle with two banana clips and a rifle in a case.
Officers also found the sword in a neighboring yard that matched other swords and a sheath found in a victim's bedroom.
