Westmoreland road to reopen sooner than expected

Westmoreland road to reopen sooner than expected

PennDOT announced today that Route 819 near the intersection of Route 66 in Bell and Washington townships, Westmoreland County, will be opening to traffic earlier than the original timeframe of August.

The roadway will open as soon as line painting can occur, which is tentatively scheduled for tomorrow morning. Traffic will be on the road by the afternoon. This roadway was closed in late March so that crews could remove and replace a bridge deck.

The contractor for this project was Gregori Construction & Engineering of Sarver.
