Season eight of the British import “Doc Martin,” first available in the U.S. in September 2017 on streaming service Acorn.TV, finally rolls out to PBS stations with Pittsburgh’s WQED-TV airing the series at 9 p.m. Thursdays beginning Jan. 10.
Episodes will repeat at 6:30 p.m. Sundays beginning Jan. 13.
“Doc Martin” stars Martin Clunes as an uptight doctor serving the seaside town of Cornwall. Season eight is comprised of eight episodes.
More ‘Star’ series
Upcoming Disney streaming service Disney+ will feature a live-action “Star Wars” series starring Diego Luna, who will reprise his “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” rebel spy character, Cassian Andor, in a prequel to “Rogue One.”
“Star Trek: Discovery” may spin off star Michelle Yeoh, who plays the mirror universe version of Captain Philippa Georgiou, into her own “Star Trek” series for streaming service CBS All Access.

HBO’s “Game of Thrones” will return for its final season in April. … The video Yule Log now extends back from Christmas to Thanksgiving with Hallmark Movies & Mysteries airing 24 hours of a cat, dog and pig frolicking beginning at 5 p.m. Nov. 21. … PBS will air the 2018 edition of the “Call the Midwife” holiday special at 9 p.m. Dec. 25. … A seven-episode adaptation of William Makepeace Thackeray’s “Vanity Fair” debuts Dec. 21 on Amazon Prime Video.
