Some great responses came in on the blog about bands skipping Pittsburgh:
Brian Krassman writes:
"I think the fact that Arcade Fire and Bright Eyes and the Decemberists and Neko Case and the list goes on have skipped Pittsburgh has pushed me to go deeper into the indie scene. I can't really go to Cleveland on a whim to see a show unless it's on a weekend because I work every day. But I've done more digging and have been getting into Menomena, Genghis Tron, Hot Cross and Aqueduct, who WILL be playing here.
If anything, it's forced me to become more aggressive in what music I seek and helped me realize there are some really great bands that will play here, which will have to fill in the gap until Lily Allen finally comes to town. I imagine it'll be in some opening slot on some pop tour at P-G Pavilion that I'll probably skip.
It's too bad we get left out in the cold, but there are some alternatives. Sure it'll take some exploration, but then again, that's kind of fun."
Jay Hornack adds to the woeful list of acts not coming here:
"The Shins, The Decemberists, TV on the Radio, Pete Yorn, Kaiser Chiefs, The Police, Genesis, The Stooges ...
Morrissey's 40-stop US tour comes out next week.
Will we be on it? How about Modest Mouse? White Stripes?
It's sad, really."
Who have you wanted to see that isn't playing Pittsburgh?
