'Gogh' while you still can: The Frick Pittsburgh extends 'Van Gogh, Monet, Degas' exhibit another week

Customers have spoken, and the museum has listened.

Driven by popular demand, The Frick Pittsburgh in Point Breeze announced the extension of its “Van Gogh, Monet, Degas: The Mellon Collection of French Art From the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts” exhibit another week to Sunday, July 15.

The museum will also extend its hours to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, July 10, through Sunday, July 15, during the exhibit’s final week.

General admission is $15, free for Frick members. The museum strongly encourages customers to purchase tickets in advance at TheFrickPittsburgh.org, or by phone at 412-371-0600.

The exhibit — which opened March 17 — features more than 70 masterpieces collected by Paul Mellon, Pittsburgh-born collector and philanthropist. It includes works by Vincent Van Gogh, Claude Monet, Edgar Degas and impressionist, post-impressionist and romantic works by 10 other French artists.

Because crowds are expected to reach maximum capacity, docent-led tours will not be offered for the exhibit during its final week. The exhibit is the first in a pair of Mellon-collected exhibitions to be displayed provided by the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts in Richmond, Va.
