A group from the Steelers joined actors Harrison Ford and others for a private screening of Legendary Pictures’ film about baseball great Jackie Robinson called “42” at the Cinemark 18 in Robinson Township Tuesday night.
Legendary’s CEO is Thomas Tull, producer of the film and a part-owner of the Steelers.
Tull hosted the screening that included players Ben Roethlisberger, Ryan Clark, Brett Keisel, Drew Butler, Hall of Famer Franco Harris, Andrew McCutcheon of the Pirates and others from the Steelers, including team president Art Rooney and his wife, Greta.
Harrison, who plays legendary Brooklyn Dodgers GM (and later Pirates GM) Branch Rickey, joined young actor Chadwick Boseman, who plays Robinson in the film.
The film will be released in theatres, including Pittsburgh, on April 12.
