A Westmoreland County man has pleaded guilty to creating child pornography, according to a news release from the U.S. Department of Justice.
Timothy E. Shearer, 54, of Avonmore pleaded guilty to one count of production of material depicting the sexual exploitation of a minor before U.S. District Judge Mark R. Hornak.
Around October 2006 and from about February through September 2009, Mr. Shearer "persuaded, induced, and coerced a minor to engage in sexually explicit conduct, for the purpose of producing visual depictions of that conduct, namely a digital video and other images," according to the Department of Justice.
The indictment also said Mr. Shearer possessed images and a video of child pornography.
He will be sentenced Aug. 7.
