One person was killed and four others were injured in a crash Wednesday morning that shut down the westbound lanes of Interstate 70 in Rostraver for several hours.
State police said Frank Charles Armstrong, 64, of New Stanton was pronounced dead at the scene.
Mr. Armstrong was merging from Route 51 onto Interstate 70 west when another driver in the westbound lanes, 38-year-old Gary King of Belle Vernon, veered into the on-ramp and struck his car about 9:40 a.m., police said.
Both passengers of Mr. Armstrong's car were flown to UPMC Presbyterian. One was critically injured and a second suffered minor injuries.
Mr. King and his passenger, a 2-year-old boy, both suffered minor injuries.
