Four people from California have been arrested in Washington County after police seized 255 pounds of marijuana and about $200,000 in cash.
Glen E. Meyers, 55, and John J. Kash, 50, both of Redding, have been charged along with James J. Massery, 52, of La Mesa, and Aimee Burgess, 34, of Shasta Lake City, with conspiracy with intent to deliver marijuana, possession with intent to deliver and possession of a controlled substance, according to court records.
On Wednesday, Mr. Massery arrived at a freight shipping company in Allegheny County and drove a crate with 170 pounds of pot to Monroeville, Pennsylvania State Police in the Belle Vernon barracks said in press release.
The next day, the four got in a van and took the crate to McIntosh Excavating in Allenport, Washington County.
Officers served a search warrant there and recovered the crate and another 30 pounds of marijuana. Officers arrested the four and also seized $27,000 in cash.
Additional search warrants were served in Allegheny and Westmoreland counties, netting another 55 pounds of weed and about $130,000 in cash.
All four are scheduled for May 28 preliminary hearings. They remain in the Washington County Jail on $50,000 bail.mobilehome - breaking - region - neigh_washington - neigh_westmoreland
