Adoption special
Sunday's "Nick News" (8:30 p.m., Nickelodeon), titled "My Family Is Different: I'm Adopted," will feature the Children's Home of Pittsburgh and its philosophy of adoption as a lifelong journey rather than a one-time event.
Sharon and Tony Marfisi of Richland are featured with their adopted daughter, Jessica, and the girl's birth mother, Michelle Papalia of Pittsburgh. "Nick News" is hosted by Linda Ellerbee.
'Miners' Story' redux
ABC's "The Pennsylvania Miners' Story," chronicling the rescue of the nine trapped Quecreek miners, will be rebroadcast at 7 p.m. July 27, just around the time of the incident's one-year anniversary.
Lubinsky's latest
Former WQED producer T.J. Lubinsky, who's hung his own shingle as an independent producer and president/CEO of TJL Productions, has created a division to produce pledge programming for PBS.
MemberVision's first project, "My Music," is designed to attract new contributing members to PBS with "cultural music interests." Henry J. DeLuca has been hired to run MemberVision, Lubinsky said, and the division is already in talks with PBS about producing three new music specials.
