Tuned In: WPXI hires Lisa Sylvester to anchor at 6 and 11 p.m., replacing the departed Darieth Chisolm

WPXI has found its Darieth Chisolm replacement.

CNN anchor Lisa Sylvester will join Channel 11 in October, anchoring on WPXI at 6 and 11 p.m. and on WPGH's 10 p.m. newscast, which is produced by WPXI.

Ms. Sylvester has appeared on CNN since 2004. Prior to that she was a correspondent for ABC News for three years with stints in local TV in St. Louis, Nashville and Peoria, Ill., at the start of her career.

She has a degree in international economics from Georgetown University and a master's degree in journalism from Northwestern University.

In July Ms. Chisolm announced she was leaving Channel 11 to spend more time with her high school senior son before he goes off to college.
