The second in a six-part iQ smartmedia initiative airs April 25 on WQED-TV. "Girls Growing Up With Media" examines the portrayal of young women as well as the impact media have on their decision-making, behaviors and sense of self.
Experts include M. Gigi Durham, author of "The Lolita Effect" and professor of journalism and mass communication at the University of Iowa; Rebecca Gaynier, founder of iTwixie.com; and Jennifer Stancil, executive director of educational partnerships at WQED.
