Two Pittsburgh International Festival of Firsts offerings debut Wednesday: "The Pigeoning," a dark comedy by New York-based artist Robin Frohardt, uses traditional Japanese bunraku puppetry, video and original music to tell the story of Frank, a man obsessed with order and cleanliness who is absorbed and ultimately transformed by his pigeon obsession. Details: 7 p.m. Wednesday-Saturday at 937 Liberty Ave. In Perth (Australia) Theatre Company's "It's Dark Outside," the mix of puppetry, mask, animation, live performance and an original music score by Rachael Dease were inspired by experiences and research into Alzheimer's and Sundowner's Syndrome. Details: 9 p.m. Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday at the Trust Education Center, 805-807 Liberty Ave. Tickets are $25. Some events are sold out; check trustarts.org or 412-456-6666.
