The Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra's Highmark Holiday Pops concerts wrap up at Heinz Hall. Conductor Daniel Meyer leads the orchestra and Pittsburgh's "Singing Sheriff" Ricky Manning, as well as vocalist Rachel DeShon and the Mendelssohn Choir of Pittsburgh. Comedian and actor Charlie Murphy will perform at the Pittsburgh Improv, 166 E. Bridge St., The Stacks at the Waterfront in Homestead. Mr. Murphy did Emmy-nominated work on "Chappelle's Show," where he created "Charlie Murphy's True Hollywood Stories." He also has worked with many Hollywood heavyweights -- besides his brother, Eddie Murphy -- including Denzel Washington, Halle Berry, Jamie Foxx and Samuel Jackson. His films include "King's Ransom," "Roll Bounce," "Jungle Fever," "Mo' Better Blues," "Harlem Nights," "Vampire in Brooklyn," for which he also was credited as a writer, and 2012's "The Guys Who Move Furniture." A Gershwinter Night at the August Wilson Center, 980 Liberty Ave., Downtown at 8 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. next Sunday will feature the Sean Jones International All-Star Quintet with special guest Israeli saxophonist and director of the Red Sea Jazz Festival Eli Degibri. The superstar quintet will include drummer Roger Humphries, bassist Dwayne Dolphin, pianist Alton Merrell, and Sean Jones on trumpet.
