National Football League owners will have to wait a little longer to see if the 10-year collective bargaining agreement they overwhelmingly voted to ratify will receive similar approval from the players. But, if it does, the Steelers will open training camp Wednesday at St. Vincent College in Latrobe -- at least three days earlier than they would have normally reported.

If the agreement gets the approval of the players, who still have to re-certify as a union, team president Art Rooney Ii said the Steelers will re-open their South Side training facility to their players on Saturday and start training camp July 27 -- the day every NFL team is allowed to report to training camp.

"If the deal goes according to plan, we'll have the guys report on Wednesday and we'll have practice on Thursday," team president Art Rooney II told the Post-Gazette Thursday night. "Opening on the same day fort every team was the fairest way to do it, given that we didn't have an off-season."
