PHOENIX -- The Steelers continued their habit of bringing back former players when they signed tight end Matt Spaeth to a two-year, $2 million contract that included a $250,000 signing bonus.

Spaeth, who was drafted on the third round by the Steelers in 2007, spent the past two seasons with the Chicago Bears.

Spaeth is the second former player to re-sign with the Steelers this month, joining cornerback William Gay. But, since the late 1970s, he is also the 10th player who was drafted by the Steelers to rejoin them for a second career.

In his six NFL seasons, Spaeth has 49 catches for 353 yards and eight touchdowns.
