Former Steeler scheduled to appear in court on assault charges

Former Steelers player Chukky Okobi is scheduled to appear in court tomorrow on charges that he assaulted someone in August.
Online court records show that Mr. Okobi, whose full name is Chukwanweze Okobi, was charged with five misdemeanor counts of simple assault for an incident that happened in the city on Aug. 25. Details of that incident were not immediately available.
Court records show that Mr. Okobi would have been sent a summons rather than arrested. Reached on his cell phone tonight, Mr. Okobi said, "I don't know what you're talking about" and that he did not think he had a criminal record.
