Ed Bouchette: Good afternoon. Let's begin

Chuck_Lorre_2.5men: Ed: will Patrick Bailey make the team?

Ed Bouchette: He will have a tougher time this year because of the two OLBs they drafted, the return of Larry Foote and the ILB they drafted. The numbers start adding up and squeezing guys.

screenwriter: Ed, Are there any discussions among NFL owners today about the CBA?

Ed Bouchette: The owners are in Dallas, including Art Rooney, and I am in Pittsburgh. I'm sure they had some discussions on the side but this is a one-day NFL meeting and not the place for CBA talks to go on.

Chuck_Lorre_2.5men: Ed: NFL drug policy is random. can a player be tested mulitple times during the season or there's a maximum number. ACLU...not withstanding?

Ed Bouchette: The drug policy, as opposed to the performance-enhancing policy, differs. You are not tested randomly unless you get into the "system" by giving a positive test during physicals

Amos_P_Swanson: Tomlin sounded a little peeved when asked about Troy missing from OTA's last week. What do you think? ... And have you heard how that knee is doing?

Ed Bouchette: His injured knee was fine at minicamp, when he practiced with his teammates. Polamalu missed OTAs in 2008, too, so he could train in SoCal. He made the Pro Bowl and his team won the Super Bowl that season.

screenwriter: Ed, How serious will northern cities push for Super Bowls in their town after NJ/NY gets theirs? Will the Rooneys push for a Bowl in the 'Burgh?

Ed Bouchette: I made the case for Pittsburgh in PG Plus today. I think many will push, including Washington and New England.

McCarty: Imagine if you will, the Pirates become buyers in July or in the offseason for a SS. What is the best case scenario (by either trade or FA signing)?

Ed Bouchette: Sir, are you related to the Bucs' second baseman because you wondered into the wrong area again.

Polamalu43: Ed, any changes to the first team offense or defense this week?
