Ben Roethlisberger said he can't wait to be a father, and he is hoping to be just like the one who raised him.

Roethlisberger and his wife, Ashley, are expecting their first child, a boy, though the two-time Super Bowl winning quarterback did not divulge the due date. He also said he and his wife have not picked out a name.

"Family is super important to me," Roethlisberger said today after the first day of minicamp on the South Side. "We're really excited. We can't wait for that day to come."

Asked what kind of dad he would like to be, Roethlisberger didn't hesitate with his answer.

"My dad is my role model, always has been," he said, referring to his father, Ken. "I always wanted to be man-father-son, everything that he is.

But it's more than being just a father. In life, I want to be like my dad. To me, he can teach me more than any book or video."
