Jerome Bettis heads a group of former Steelers among the 127 nominees for the Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 2013.
Bettis and Kevin Greene, both finalists last year, join kicker Gary Anderson, coaches Bill Cowher and Buddy Parker and player personnel head Art Rooney Jr. from the Steelers. All were nominated last year, too.
Others on the list with Steelers connections are former assistant coach Bud Carson and offensive lineman Jeff Hartings.
Former Pitt linemen Bill Fralic and Jim Covert, former Penn State lineman Steve Wisniewski and former West Virginia linebacker Darryl Talley also are candidates. The list will be pared to 25 by the 44-member selection committee. Another vote will cut it to 15, who will then join two seniors candidates as finalists for election Feb. 2.
