Q: Hey Ed just wanted your opinion on why you think the Steelers don't do what the Patriots do by trading their good players that are on their final year of their contracts and getting good draft picks in return. Example: Seymour to the Raiders was brilliant because now they get a high first rounder in return and he doesn't go in free agency for free, the reason I bring this up is because someone like Casey Hampton also could get us a first round pick in return instead of letting him go and not getting anything.

BOUCHETTE: All I can say is the Steelers do what they do, and the Patriots do what they do. Obviously, both are successful. Do you really think that trading Casey Hampton would have helped the Steelers THIS SEASON? Hampton remains an important part of their defense as they try to win another Super Bowl. Let's say they traded Hampton for a first-round draft pick in 2011. Do you think, perhaps, the NFL's No. 1 defense would have been better off without him this season?
