Robert Morris returned home to 84 Lumber Arena for the first time since Dec. 8 and spent much of it in the penalty box.
The Colonials lost 3-2 to Connecticut in an Atlantic Hockey League conference game, as the Huskies went 2-for-7 on the power play.
The Colonials made a late bid with a shorthanded goal by Cody Wydo at 10:10 of the third period to cut the deficit to one goal, but were unable to score the equalizer in front of a packed house.
Robert Morris went unbeaten in December with a 4-0-2 record and broke into the national poll for one week at No. 19, before splitting a pair of games at Army last weekend to fall out of the poll.
The two teams play again Saturday night to wrap up the season series.
