Robert Morris shut down a late rally by Northeast Conference rival Saint Francis to hold on for a 78-74 win.
The Colonials' 11-point, second-half lead was cut to just two by the Red Flash (5-19, 4-7), but Saint Francis could not complete the comeback.
Seven Colonials (18-8, 9-4) tallied six or more points led by Lucky Jones and Mike McFadden with 14 points each.
The Colonials started the second half strong and evened the score at 41 at the 15:34 mark.
Robert Morris used tough defense to generate turnovers and easy baskets as the Colonials opened the half on a 24-10 run.
The run was fueled by easy looks and helped the Colonials to connect on 10 of their first 13 shots in the second half.
The Red Flash cut the Colonials lead down to just two with 1:25 to play when Scott Eatherton hit a layup, but that would be as close as the Red Flash would get.
Despite going just 15 of 23 from the line Robert Morris sealed the game at the free-throw line scoring its final six points from the line.
The Red Flash will visit the Colonials to continue NEC rivalry week at 7 p.m. Saturday.
