Colonials fall victim to Bobcats' late rally

HAMDEN, Conn. -- Ike Azotam hit a go-ahead free throw with 1:18 left and Quinnipiac beat Robert Morris, 63-61, Thursday night in Northeast Conference play.
The first of Azotam's two free throws put the Bobcats ahead amid a 6-0 run that created a 62-58 lead.
Quinnipiac (11-13, 7-5) trailed, 51-46, with 7:49 to play, but pieced together a 10-2 run over the next three minutes and took a 56-53 lead on Izotam's layup.
The Colonials' Russell Johnson responded with a tying 3-pointer and Lucky Jones added a layup for Robert Morris' 58-56 lead with 4:21 to play.
The Bobcats then launched their 6-0 run and held the Colonials scoreless until Coron Williams' 3-pointer with a second left.
The win was Quinnipiac's third in a row. Evan Conti led the Bobcats with 18 points, while Izotam had 10.
Johnson paced Robert Morris (17-9, 9-4) with 16 points and seven rebounds. Jones and Coron Williams scored 12 points each with Jones also grabbing seven rebounds and three assists.
Guard Anthony Myers-Pate scored seven points for the Colonials as did Mike McFadden off the bench.
