Endzone_warrior: Ron, how do you think Penn State will do at Minnesota? I am concerned after the Illinois loss

Ron Musselman: I think just about everyone that follows Penn State football is concerned after the Illinois game. I think the players and coaches are searching for answers, too. This team seems to have no leadership and no direction. Minnesota is 1-6 this year, but has played a few tight games. But the Gophers still are 0-4 at home this season, so this is a game Penn State must-win to have any chance to be bowl-eligible.

Nathan: Has there been any talk of moving LB Gerald Hodges back to safety, the position he was originally recruited for, due to the recent injuries at the safety positions?

Ron Musselman: Hodges is finally expected to play this week after injuring his left leg on the opening kickoff at Alabama in week two. But he will remain at linebacker and could see a decent amount of playing time against the Gophers. The Lions will make up for the loss of Nick Sukay at free safety by moving strong safety Drew Astorino there and inserting Andrew Dailey at Astorino's old spot. Malcolm Willis has been working at the nickel back spot, and Chaz Powell also could see playing time there after moving back from wide receiver during the off week.

JoePaMustGoPa: What is wrong with this team and do you think they can win three more games this year to become bowl-eligible?

Ron Musselman: At this point, a better question may be, what is not wrong with this team? Penn State's offense has been mired in a season-long slump, especially in the red zone. There don't appear to be any leaders on the team. And he defense has been below par, especially when it comes to getting pressure on opposing quarterbacks and tackling. It is hard to tell at this point whether Penn State can win three more games. But if it does happen, the three winnable games would appear to be Minnesota, Indiana and Northwestern (iffy). It's hard to imagine this team in its current state beating Ohio State, Michigan or Michigan State. As an FYI Northwestern beat Minnesota, 29-28.
